 The Long Island Violin Shop is a premier full-service shop
for players of bowed stringed instruments.
We offer instruments and bows of exceptional value for players of all
ages, ability, and budget. Other services include rental instruments, expert
repairs of instrument and bows, appraisals, consignments, and music lessons.
All this we do with family-friendly service that will satisfy your highest
standards of customer care.
We are in Huntington, just 30 miles east of midtown Manhattan. We relocated to
this beautiful village known as the center of the arts on Long
Island in 2008. Our clients love its combination of charm and
history in a setting with other fine shops, excellent dining and free parking.
The Long Island Violin Shop was founded by Master Violin
Maker Charles Rufino. After many years of study in the finest violin studios of
Europe and America, Mr. Rufino returned home with a dream: to create a studio
which would provide the finest service to musicians from student to
professional regardless of age or level of accomplishment. Since 1983 that dream
has flourished to serve thousands of happy clients - parents who came here as
children now bring their own children for their first instrument!
After many years in
a small private studio, we moved to expanded quarters in the autumn of 2008 to
create a place where music lovers will feel comfortable browsing, trying out,
and discussing instruments, bows, and music. The Long Island Violin Shop is
very proud to be a cultural and social center for our community and we provide
workshops, masterclasses, children's programs and other events for our
customers. In addition, we have ongoing poetry readings and concerts by
distinguished artists featuring innovative programming in an intimate setting.
As a family-owned store, we pride ourselves on our customer
service, our broad selection, and above all, our love and knowledge of
instruments and bows. We appreciate the loyal support we have received from our
customers and look forward to providing fine instruments and quality services
