Monday March 21 through Monday March 27 The Long Island Violin Shop’s professional music teachers will be offering free 30-minute introductory violin, viola, cello and acoustic bass lessons to prospective students (kids and adults) at all three of their locations: 8 Elm Street, Huntington, NY, 23 West Main Street, Smithtown, NY and 250 Main Street, Setauket-East Setauket, NY
The Long Island Violin Shop is doing this as part of the 8th Annual Teach Music Week organized by Keep Music Alive, a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to “promote the value of music: For children’s education, the many types of therapy music helps with and for our overall happiness” (https://www.keepmusicalive.org/about).
Teach Music Week is held every year during the third week of March to coincide with National Music in Our Schools Month®. The goal of Teach Music Week is to encourage anyone who might be interested in learning to play an instrument to take the plunge by signing up for a free lesson or music class at participating establishments.
