The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and the LIVS are working hard to make sure school music programs are still in existence this coming fall. Due to the pandemic, there is a lot of uncertainty about what the coming school year will look like and whether or not funds will be available to continue school music programs.
We firmly believe that all children deserve to benefit from learning to play an instrument. Most of our staff at the LIVS developed their musical abilities and love of music through school orchestra programs. Numerous studies have concluded that learning music leads to improved memory and brain function, stress relief and a sense of self-confidence and accomplishment. If you are as concerned as we are about the future of school music, please join us in contacting your elected representatives to make sure that funding is secured to keep school music programs afloat.
