The Long Island Violin Shop offers a viola rental program that’s a lot different than what you might expect. When you rent a viola from us, 100% of your rental payments are applied to your instrument’s equity. With every payment you make, you get that much closer to owning your viola outright. 

We also believe that every student deserves to learn on an instrument that will enhance their experience and complement their skills as they progress. For this reason, we don’t provide you with a standard rental viola. When you rent from The Long Island Violin Shop, you get an original, high-quality handmade viola that will last for multiple generations with the appropriate care and maintenance. Your viola is an investment, so we want you to have the very best. 

As a full-service music shop, we also have everything you need to enjoy your viola to the fullest. We offer free tunings, virtual and on-site viola lessons, all the accessories you’ll ever need, and a full-service repair shop should your instrument ever require repair.

Rent Violas

With two viola rental programs to choose from, we have a solution for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Our Standard viola rental program is designed for those who are either starting out or those with an intermediate understanding of the instrument. Our Scholastic Strings Premium rental program is geared toward those ranging from intermediate to advanced. It provides the student with a higher quality instrument as well as an upgraded case and bow, premium strings, and a premium rosin cake.

For an additional cost, The Long Island Violin Shop also offers a Standard or Premium Beginner’s Kit to help enhance your viola playing experience. The Standard kit includes a shoulder rest, a foldable music stand, and your choice of method book. Our Premium Beginner’s Kit comes with a collapsible shoulder rest, foldable music stand, and your choice of method book. Either kit makes for the perfect complement to your instrument rental as it helps make it easier and more comfortable to play the voila, especially for beginning students.
