Sleepy Man Banjo Boys: Blazing Bluegrass From The Garden State

Sleepy Man Banjo Boys: Blazing Bluegrass From The Garden State

Every Tuesday, the LIVS is highlighting another TED Talk About Music, The Arts & Creativity.

LIVS_Blog_SMBBFrom TED2013 - The YouTube generation is coming of age and discovering a wide world of musical options to suit their taste. In the case of New Jeresy brothers Jonny (Banjo), Robbie (Fiddle) and Tommy (Guitar) Mizzone, online exploration led to a love of the bluegrass sounds of Earl Scruggs, J.D. Crowe, Ralph Stanley and Clarence White.

Ranging in age from 11 to 15, these prodigal youth have displayed an extraordinary acumen for lightning fast finger-picking and furious fiddling. Now, they are YouTube sensations all their own, with an astounding 17 Million combined views. In this stellar performance from TED2013, we're treated to three tracks in three keys.
