Bidding A Fond Farewell To LIVS Education Coordinator Estefan Cortez

We are sad to say that at the end of this month we will be bidding farewell to our education coordinator Estefan Cortez.

Estefan attended the College of Saint Rose on full scholarship and graduated in 2013 with a degree in music education. Since he joined the staff at the LIVS, the lessons program has grown from zero students in 2013, to one hundred ten students in 2017. He has also incorporated other activities into the education program including, chamber music, Mock NYSSMA Day, student recitals and a partnership with the lessons program at Grace Music School.

Estefan has been offered a job at Summerhays Music in Salt Lake City Utah as “Pro Strings Specialist.” He will be making the move west alongside girlfriend, Samantha Kadish, who we mentioned in last month’s newsletter. Samantha will be attending violin making school in Salt Lake City this fall.

Estefan has been an invaluable member of the LIVS staff and we wish him and Samantha the best of luck with their future endeavors. We will miss them both

Monica Behler, who has been with the LIVS since April of 2016 will be taking Estefan’s place as education coordinator. If you have any questions or would like more information about the lessons program at LIVS, please feel free to contact her at Lessons@liviolinshop.com.
