Our violin of the month is by maker David Polstein who is a contemporary and personal friend of LIVS Director, Charles Rufino.
This instrument is an elegant copy of an early del Gesu pattern violin. The back is made from two pieces of quarter-cut maple with broad flames descending from the center joint and the ribs are from highly figured maple.
This violin has a robust tone with a clean higher register and powerful lower register. This is an excellent instrument for an advanced student or a student going to conservatory.
