You will begin earning rental credit from day one and regular rates will apply beginning in month six.
*You will receive your Order Number once you complete your online checkout. All rentals include instrument (pre-strung), bow, rosin, case or bag.
Our standard rentals are of a higher quality than standard instruments from other rental programs. These instruments are handmade and have everything that a beginner, amateur, or intermediate players needs to be successful.
Each instrument is carefully inspected in our workshop and setup by our expert luthiers to ensure the right balance of tone and playability. Professional quality strings and real horsehair on bows is used on all our instruments.
The Long Island Violin Shop rents instruments on a month-to-month basis, with a five-month initial rental period. Your payment covers the first five months of your rental contract and is due when the instrument is rented. There are no further contracts or obligations beyond the first five months.
At the start of the 6th month, your credit/debit card will automatically be charged the regular monthly rate. Your contract automatically extends after the initial period, until you decide to return the instrument. It couldn't be easier!
There's no bottom-of-the-barrel stock in our rental program. We firmly believe that every student deserves to learn on an instrument that will enhance their experience, not hamper progress.
Our Maintenance and Protection Plan is automatically included in the price of every rental instrument. The program features zero-deductible coverage against light damage, including broken stings, bridges, bows, etc.
SHIPPING
We gladly ship rental violins and violas nationwide. We do not ship rental cellos or basses (you may pick these rentals up at either of our three retail locations). Renters are responsible for all outgoing and return shipping costs. Please review our shipping rates here. The Protection Plan does not cover shipping for damaged instruments, bows, or cases, and does not cover instruments, bows, or cases in the custody of shipping companies or delivery services.

CANCELLATIONS & LATE FEES
As mentioned above, renters have no obligation beyond the non-refundable 5-month initial rental period; you may return an instrument at any time without penalty. Instruments returned early do not have rental fees pro-rated. We depend on prompt payment to keep our fees reasonable for all our clients. A 5-day grace period is allowed for late payments, after which a $11 monthly fee is assessed.
