On Friday, January 29th, Charles Rufino, expert instrument maker and owner of The Long Island Violin Shop, came to speak to the Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School String Orchestra. He imparted great wisdom to the students that only comes with years of experience in the music business. Rufino spoke of how he found his passion in music and instrument-making, shared many stories from his work in a New York City instrument shop, and emphasized the importance of always keeping music in our lives. He even showed the students how he makes several string instruments by hand! It was an amazing afternoon and the students greatly appreciated Mr. Rufino "coming in" to speak to them!
